# Privacy & retention: what goes when, and the proof that it went

> Portal enquiries deleted once their purpose lapses, a deletion log as proof, deleted contacts restorable for 15 minutes, account deletion with a grace period.

**Status:** Available — In every workspace, documented here, with its changes listed on its page.
**On the broker’s path:** The firm

**The problem this solves:** Enquiries from portals must go when their purpose has lapsed, a deleted contact must stay deleted, and the AVV must be provable.

**In short:** Settings → Datenschutz & Aufbewahrung shows the retention rules as they apply
to your workspace, which enquiries go when, and the deletion log you download for your
records. A deleted contact can be restored for fifteen minutes and then leaves a proof that
it is gone. A person deletes their own account in their profile; signing in within 30 days
keeps it.

## What you can do

- **See what goes when.** Enquiries from portals leave when their purpose has lapsed; the
enquiry itself tells you the date.
- **Keep the log.** Every deletion under the retention rules is logged, ready for an audit.
- **Undo a deletion in time.** Fifteen minutes for a contact; after that, a proof of erasure.
- **Delete an account.** From the profile, with a 30-day grace period, no more mail from the
moment of asking, and a receipt when erased.
- **Choose your cookies.** Real choices, changeable any time from „Cookie settings“.

## How it works

The rules are the firm's as the controller and Capitality's as the processor under the data
processing agreement (AVV) accepted at sign-up; what ImmoScout24's rules add is on
[ImmoScout24](https://docs.capitality.io/integrations/immoscout24/). Walkthrough recordings and other media follow the
terms the firm sets.

## Limits and notes

- This page describes the product; it is not legal advice. The firm stays responsible for
copies it makes itself — exports, downloads, its own mailbox.
