# Your own mailbox: send and read as yourself, inside the workspace

> Connect a broker's own mailbox so replies, confirmations and reminders go out in their name from their address, and conversations arrive in one shared inbox.

**The problem this solves:** Replies sent from a system address land in spam and confuse the recipient; the broker’s own address is what people trust.

**In short:** Connect your own mailbox and mails go out in your name from your address —
replies, viewing confirmations, reminders, owner reports. Enquiries, mail from connected
mailboxes and notices arrive in one inbox your team works through together; a shared mailbox
can be given to colleagues or whole teams, a private one stays its owner's alone.

## What you can do

- **Send as yourself.** Every automated mail in your name closes with your e-mail signature.
- **Read together.** One inbox for the team; private mailboxes stay private.
- **Ask for consent properly.** Someone who objected to advertising can be asked once more —
  only from the broker's own mailbox, and the objection holds until they confirm.

## How it works

Mailboxes connect over the standard mail protocols; a connection that does not come through
says so after three minutes and offers to try again. When someone leaves the workspace, the
mailboxes they connected for themselves stop reading mail for the firm, and their signature
goes with them.

## Limits and notes

- Beta: complete for the first firms using it. Which providers your firm can connect depends
  on their settings for third-party mail clients.

## New in this feature

- App 0.41.0: Connecting a mailbox no longer waits forever: after three minutes the page says so and offers to connect again.
- Platform 0.27.16: Your mailboxes load again when the workspace is busy.
- Platform 0.26.0: When someone leaves your workspace, the mailboxes they connected for themselves stop reading mail for the firm, and their signature goes with them.
- Platform 0.26.0: A closed workspace's mail templates, sequences, sent-mail records and connected mailboxes are now erased along with the rest of its data.
- App 0.40.3: For a contact who objected, "Bestätigung per E-Mail anfordern" appears when your own mailbox is connected and sends the request from it.
- Platform 0.25.4: Someone who objected to advertising can be asked once more for consent — only from the broker's own mailbox, and the objection holds until they confirm.
- App 0.37.3: On a phone, every inbox and mailbox can now be picked from one list above the conversations.
- App 0.37.3: A closed object mailbox tells you where to send properties by mail.
- App 0.36.0: Enquiries, mail from your own mailboxes and notices now arrive in one inbox your team works through together.
- Platform 0.21.0: A shared mailbox can be given to colleagues or whole teams, and its mail shows up in their inbox — while a private mailbox stays its owner's alone.
- Platform 0.19.11: Viewing confirmations, reminders, counter-offers and owner reports reach people again, each sent in the name of the colleague in charge.
