AI-labelled pictures
A virtually furnished room, a renovated look, a cleared garden: pictures like these sell, and they must say what they are. The EU AI Act (Article 50) asks that content made or manipulated by an AI is disclosed as such, and German competition law treats a staged room shown as a real one as misleading. This page explains how Capitality carries that label. It is a product description, not legal advice.
Labelling a picture
Section titled “Labelling a picture”Open an object’s photos and choose Arrange photos. Under each picture you can say what it is:
- Real photo — the default.
- AI-edited — a real photo an AI changed: furniture added or removed, a wall repainted, a sky replaced.
- AI-generated — a picture an AI made from scratch.
The choice is saved at once. Blurring people or number plates for privacy is not an AI edit and needs no label.
Where the label shows
Section titled “Where the label shows”Once a picture is labelled, every outlet says so — you do not repeat it anywhere:
- Your website: a badge on the picture, in the gallery and full size.
- The exposé (screen and PDF): a badge on the cover and gallery pictures, in the exposé’s language.
- Portals: the picture’s title starts with the label, so portals that show titles show it first, even where they shorten long titles. A change reaches the portals a few minutes after you stop editing.
Pictures Capitality makes
Section titled “Pictures Capitality makes”When a picture is made or changed by a tool in Capitality, it is labelled automatically and the label cannot be removed. You see it with a lock in the photo list.
